MFAW-VT student John Pietrowski’s production of The Gospel of John, which he directed with Ken Jennings, will be live-streaming this weekend, Saturday-Monday, on the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture website.
“Plays can bring spiritual solace. On the unadorned stage, two flights below Bleecker Street, the actor Ken Jennings had only a single prop: a compact Bible. When theater is a religious experience, faith has a powerful role.” – The New York Times
“Jennings’ presentation is very personal, profoundly felt. A heartfelt and captivating performance. The Sheen’s production of The Gospel of John offers a gripping narrative conveyed by a compelling actor, who captures the exquisite beauty of its language and brings immediacy and understanding to the age-old story.” – DC Metro Arts
The Gospel of John will be available for viewing beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Holy Saturday, April 11 through the end of day on Easter Monday, April 13. You can watch it on their website (www.sheencenter.org/gospelofjohn) and on their original YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/sheencenter).
Congratulations, John!
