These days, with everything “live at home,” we miss things. We hope you didn’t miss Thursday night’s Instagram Live Launch when MFAW-WA student Masha Shukovich joined some mighty fine writers and poets gathered together by the Michigan Quarterly Review for the Spring 2020 Water Issue.
Masha wrote, “I’ll be sharing a stand-alone excerpt from my novel-in-progress “The Taste of Names.” This short piece, entitled “What Water Remembers,” reflects my ancestral beliefs and traditions and is written in the collective voice of Water (first-person plural). Giving a voice to Water and the “more-than-human world” in my writing feels like the truest thing I can say at this time of great upheaval.”

If you did, don’t rely on us! Follow her at @mashawrites for quicker updates and future news.
Congratulations, Masha!
