Faculty member Bhanu Kapil’s first book of poetry to be published in the UK, How To Wash A Heart (Liverpool University Press), was just launched. It is the Poetry Book Society Choice for the summer, and has just received a fantastic review in The Guardian (as well as The Daily Telegraph).  Calling the collection “brilliant,” the Guardian writes, “In this series of precise, destabilising poems, Kapil skillfully amplifies the pressured immigrant heart, showing how precarious it is to exist in colour in a white space.”
